Here’s how most coaches are taught to get new clients: ⠀
1️⃣ Offer someone a free coaching session
2️⃣ Coach as hard as you can on that coaching session to show them just how amazing you are
3️⃣ Ask then if they want to keep working with you
4️⃣ Tell them how much it is per session
5️⃣ Be totally mystified and deflated when they start to come up with objections and say no ⠀
This approach SEEMS logical – but it’s actually backwards, and I'll explain why. ⠀
You see, when you give your potential clients actually coaching on their problems, there is a very good chance that they are going to think that that help may be all they need.
You and I both know that what they think are their problems are really just the tip of the iceberg, and there is much more under the water than above. Which means, when you coach them, and allow them to have hope that they are already fixed, you are actually doing them a disservice.
In fact, you ONE AND ONLY JOB ON A CONSULTATION CALL is to get them to see exactly HOW MUCH THEY NEED YOUR HELP. We don't do this by coaching them…
We do this by holding up a mirror so they can examine themselves, their goals, their dreams and their pains and frustrations.
And then, and only then, when you have filled them with passion for their goals, and agitated their pain enough to make them willing to ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING, then you offer to help them.
